Crest Nicholson- Shell and Core Fitout

Office Relocation - Southampton, UK

Brief

Appointed to create a workspace that could accommodate the same number of people within a significantly smaller space, Mode 4 Project and Technology worked closely with Crest Nicholson to expedite Centenary Quays’ move to a new office. This enabled the letting of the larger Whitebox Unit, allowing the focus to remain on growing their urban regeneration scheme within Southampton, with plans to introduce various shops and restaurants to their ever-growing community.

The Project

The aim was to create a space that reflected the style of the original sales office, while operating within a floorplate that was 40% smaller. The design centred around a large open-plan presentation and welcoming area, creating an inviting atmosphere for customers.

An 84-inch 4K interactive screen was installed, enabling employees to maximise opportunities for customer presentations, including virtual tours, as well as facilitating internal meetings through a variety of integrated applications.

Collaboration between onsite staff and the head office team in Cobham was a key priority. The open-plan design encouraged fluid interaction, allowing employees to engage with customers in a variety of ways — whether standing, moving throughout the space, or using iPads at the coffee tables.

A secluded meeting room was also installed to provide a dedicated space for internal meetings and confidential customer discussions. In addition, it serves as a private workspace for employees working independently or collaboratively with customers. The kitchen was relocated, and two toilets were installed, alongside an informal seating area conveniently positioned at the rear of the office.
