Nacco Materials Handling Group Inc.
NACCO Industries, Inc. is an operating holding company with subsidiaries in the following principal industries: mining, small appliances and specialty retail.
Mode 4 were appointed by Nacco to develop the designs and layout for their new European head office in Frimley Business Park. We worked closely with the PA to the MD to develop the most stylish space, using neutral finishes such as Blacks, Whites and Greys.
We decided to name the job as ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’. Although no colour was used in the office space, the breakout areas were bursting with vibrant reds and this contrast was used to create the idea of work/play environments.
The sales space was filled with different styles of meeting space to help the team use their skills in presenting in different environments. The soft-sell meeting booths were used to create a relaxed environment with two small meeting rooms for a more formal meeting scenario.
This furniture project did come with its challenges – we had to create one of the largest boardrooms tables the company has ever provided, seating 22 people!
The Office Furniture Solution
For the office environment we provided the Herman Miller Sense Desking range with the very popular Sayl task chair.
The Setu meeting and lounge chairs were used to create a very high specification throughout the office space and we introduced the work wall product to the management offices to allow for extra storage space without the need for extra units. The storage specification came from the Silverline range.
Meeting and breakout furniture by Orangebox utilised the Cwtch and Avi seating solutions for the soft seating area and the spring stools for the tea point on the first floor.
Pars meeting tables and Sonar Chairs were used in the board room.
The canteen chairs were from Boss Design Groups. Komac range offered style with functionality with the the loop chairs.
